Who We Are

Walter S. Swindell, II is the Founder and CEO of Optimization Solutions Consuliting, LLC. He is a career financial professional with extensive accounting and finance management experience.  His education includes a B.S. in Accounting and a M.S. in Financial Management.  He has had direct experience with the management oversight of accounting functions in private, public, and non-profit organizations.  His experiences include the management of general accounting, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash flow management, operations management and the preparation of consolidated financial statements for multi million dollar organizations.

Throughout his career he has held various leadership roles.  His responsibilities included the oversight of a departments with staff in excess 100 individuals in roles at various levels of the organization. He is highly experienced with working with C-level leaders.

In his senior level roles with large and small organizations he has gained valuable experience with leading process improvement initiatives, facilitating change initiatives with cross-functional teams, implementing new technologies, and managing to performance score cards. 

Optimization Solutions Consulting, LLC was formed by Walter S. Swindell, II to provide individuals and organizations with Strategic Planning, Financial Management and Performance Management tools that contribute to the development of a road map for success.  The company focuses on improving results by leveraging people, processes, technology and profits towards the organizations purpose.  Optimization Solutions Consulting, LLC is focused on helping organizations to identify and overcome their obstacles to success.

Walter S. Swindell, II currently serves as an Associate Adjunct Professor for the University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC). In this role he has been assigned to instruct the following courses in the Undergraduate Business School: 

Strategic Management course that focuses on integrating management, marketing,  finance/accounting, production/operations, services, research and development, and information systems functions to achieve organizational success. 

Small Business Management course that focuses on the management principles underlying emerging enterprise organizational development, growth, and business life cycle segments of small business management in a global context. 

Decision Making course that focuses on tools and techniques for effective decision making. The focus is on a proven framework for decision making that acts as a guide to overcome risks and uncertainty, accommodate stakeholder interest, determine performance measures, and assess change management effects of the decision.

Entrepreneurship and New Venture Planning course that provides an overview of entrepreneurship and planning new business ventures for aspiring entrepreneurs and managers. The objective is to create and present a high-quality business plan for a new venture using marketing research and financial analytical techniques.
